Participation in the XXXVII International Congress of the Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property (ABPI)

From August 20 to 22, the city of Rio de Janeiro will host specialists and authorities for the XXXVII International Congress of the Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property (ABPI). This is the largest event of Intellectual Property in Latin America, and the 2017 edition will address the theme “Intellectual Property in the Global Political and Economic Context”.

The event, which was attended by around 1,000 participants in 2016, shall have the participation of important entities and government agencies, such as the Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (INPI), as well as international organizations of IP like the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).

Baril Advogados will be once again represented in this important event. Maikon Oliveira, Mariana Chacur and Alysson H. Oikawa, partners of the IP department, will attend panels and plenary sessions, and held meeting with IP colleagues from Brazil and other countries.

Founded in 1963, ABPI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the study of Intellectual Property, notably the right of industrial property, copyright, competition law, technology transfer and other related branches. More information about ABPI and its objectives may be found at:  www.abpi.org.br.
